Seetharaman is a Professor of Computer and Information Science at Annamalai University. His research interests include Statistical Pattern Recognition, Scene Analysis, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Data Science and Knowledge Discovery. He has published over 115 articles, Seven Book Chapters, and One Book at the International level.

He is actively involved in professional activities, viz. reviewer in the journals: Pattern Recognition, Knowledge-based Systems, IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, Journal of Signal and Information Processing, and Digital Signal Processing. He served as an Associate Editor of the International Journal - Aloy Journal of Soft Computing and Applications, and the Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Information Technology and Management Sciences.

He is an active member of the professional societies: ISTE, Fellow-IETE, IEEE, ACM, IAENG, and CSI.
